The Mini Excavator has a narrow footprint that renders the machine very unstable when lifting the boom arm across track, to help explain this problem we have animation video of the Mini Excavator machine demonstrating its vulnerability when lifting or even moving when the excavator arm is lifted perpendicular to the machine track.
When the correct manoeuvre is carried out, the operator will excavate along the track profile using, where necessary, his stabilizer ram at either the front or rear of the machine. This practice is proven and safe to the operator and any co-workers alongside the machine. Those hiring a machine on a regular basis for local domestic work or otherwise will know that if you do not maintain safe working practice the machine will often fall over.

The former mercury switch removed from this machine application since 2006 has been superseded with a unique hydraulic solution designed by Vince Edwards, design chief at Gravloc UK Ltd. The removal of mercury following the environment directive for dangerous substance received a formal directive issued by the Health & Safety Executive UK 2006, consequently the rest of the world have followed suit.
The Gravloc GME-SV001 has a sensitivity range from 2 – 90 degrees, our trial practice would recommend a setting of 5 +/- 1 degree, protecting against uneven terrain or machine misuse.
